PBR - WHAT? - PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDING - THAT'S WHAT!!!

Joe is crazy about the rodeo ever since he went to the Pendleton Round-Up as a young child just after moving to the mainland from Hawaii.  I have to admit I always have a great time when we go but Joe LOVES the rodeo - especially bull riding!  So when I saw there was going to be a Professional Bull Riding event at our Moda Center  I had to get tickets.  I had no trouble convincing Joe - NONE!

We drove over to our Orenco train station and took the MAX to the front of the Moda Center with dozens of cowboys and even more excited fans filling up the train!  As we walked in there was a silent protest with many people wearing bull heads and holding signs that the rodeo is cruel animal abuse and certainly not entertainment.  Everyone gets an opinion - right?

Just past security we spotted a chicken and fries stand and got right in line.  The food was delicious and a great start to a wonderful evening!   We decided that we would watch bull riding for a couple of hours and then leave a bit early to avoid the crowd - especially on the train.  We were having so much fun and the title was still up in the air so naturally we stayed until the last bull had been ridden - or at least attempted to be ridden.  Based on the fact that none - not one of the 10 finalists was able to ride the bull for  8 seconds - and the way the bulls were chasing the cowboys, clowns and horses around - we feel like the bulls won this event!!!

We met a number of nice people in the stands and on the trains and now have 'tips' on more rodeos and bull riding events in our area coming up.  Can't wait!!!
