SILVER DOLLAR CITY AMUSEMENT PARK - AWESOME!

May 27, 2021

Our first outing after getting moved into our new home was up to Branson, Missouri about two hours away IN THE CAR!  LOL

Branson is a crazy town with every type of family oriented activity imaginable - Ripley's Believe it or Not, Dinner shows, zip lines, bumper cars, a Steamboat Dinner show on the river, helicopter rides - I mean, you could easily spend a fortune - a FORTUNE with oh, say a family of four and two or three activities!!!

Our favorite and the focus of this trip was Silver Dollar City - the amusement park out on the point past town.  Tickets are $74.00 per person but there are ways to save such as Veteran's discounts or purchasing your tickets for Thursdays at certain markets in Arkansas.

We got the annual pass with parking and front of the line advantage for JJ (John) for his birthday, ordered Veteran's discount tickets online and decided to take a chance - even tho weather was predicted to be extreme after 4:00pm - and not in a good way!

The park is beautiful, food amazing and the roller coasters top of the line.  This park has six major roller coasters and of course JJ rode them all.  He really enjoyed the coasters and gave them high ratings and rave  reviews.

We were able to enjoy walking around the country village setting complete with music, artisans and delicious snacks and food.  It is a beautiful place and we had a delightful day.

I would skip the train ride - they stop out in the woods and have a really awful comedy routine that seems to last FOREVER and in the heat and humidity - just wasn't great!

Exactly at 2:00pm while Joe was getting root beer floats and JJ was getting pizza a torrential downpour started along with thunder and lightning and we just took off for the car and got out of town!  LOL  The drive up over the mountain near Eureka Springs was harrowing and I actually had to stop twice to calm down before I could continue.  We love weather and I am sure we have much to look forward to in this arena!

We got home safe and sound and cannot wait until our next visit to Branson and the Silver Dollar City Amusement Park!
