MAY 2021 -
The secret to a successful move is planning. So lists were created and things checked off as completed..
The secret to a successful move is organization. So as we packed we assigned numbers to each bedroom and listed contents on the box and Joe even took pictures of his stuff and taped it on the box.
The secret to a successful move is to get rid of everything you don't use or need.
The secret to a successful move is patience and maintaining an even temper even when your careful planning goes in the ditch!
The secret to a successful move is a great sense of humor shared by all participants!
What is not a secret - is that moving sucks, is a lot of work, is very tiring and you can never find the shit you need when you get to the new house!
Do your best - try to think of it as an adventure because it surely will be once you get settled and count your blessings!!!
Here are a few pix of packing and unpacking and very few pix of the 2400 mile drive - well, because we were DRIVING and mostly only stopped at rest stops to pee and gas stations to fill those hungry tanks - oh and fast food because well....you gotta eat - right?
We rented a Penske truck (26 ft), hired movers to pack the truck, drove 600 miles a day, stayed in very nice pre-booked motels, hired movers to unload the truck and spent a week making our new house - HOME. We have met our delightful neighbors, found all the places we need to go to buy the stuff we need and are already very happy and ready to explore.
Yesterday the local morning news had a story about a herd of buffalo that was running around in Bella Vista just 20 miles away! This is going to be FUN!
Thursday we are driving to Branson, Missouri (2 hours in the car... so soon?) to visit Silver Dollar City and ride some coasters
